The Aim of the Road Racing League is to promote racing and improve the fitness of our riders with a bit of healthy competition! The idea is that riders are to be awarded points for their placing in each race they enter. These points will be added up regularly and posted on a league table on the web site. The rider with the most points at the end of the season will win. Simple. We'll have lots of prizes for the top 3 riders at the Summer BBQ in Trinity term.

The points system has been revised for 2004/2005. You score points for entering, with more points for bigger events. If you're succesful you also score points finishing anywhere higher than half way.

Points for participation are awarded as follows:

30 points for a BUSA or National Road Race or Time Trial
15 points for an Open TT, BCF Road Race, Cuppers, Town vs Gown or OUCC Hill Climb
5 points for a Club TT or non BCF Road Race
Success is also rewarded as follows:

40 points for a win
35 points for top 5 (top 3 if field is < than 20)
25 points for top 10 (top 6 if field is < than 20)
20 points for top quarter of the field
15 points for top half of the field (or finishing in the bunch in road races)

Races any time between the start of 1st week of Michaelmas and the end of 7th week of Trinity term counts towards the 2006/2007 awards at the End of Year Social.

Riders are required to relay results by e-mail with Racing League as subject to the Racing Secretary.
